複数の小断層データ、つまり断層面の走向・傾斜、スリッケンラインのレイク、センスから、断層形成時の応力場・応力比を逆解法で推定します。沈み込み帯の地震サイクルに伴う応力変化を考えるための重要な手法です。

Using multiple slip data, including dip and strike of faults, rake of slickenlines, and slip sense, paleo-stress orientations and stress ratio are inversely estimated. This approach is used to understand stress changes related to seismic cycles along subduction plate interfaces.
